Hello,Several years back I bought a Lincoln FCAW (110v) welder with 4 heat settings. It worked pretty good. Shortly after that my father bought a Sears FCAW (110v) for the same price, but it had no "clicks" to the heat settings, you could set it anywhere from the "0" position to the "100" (Or whatever the max setting was). Now, I tried my fathers welder and let me tell you, it was better than even the 220 volt wirefeeders I used in college. It was one HECK of a machine.I am embarking on a project now, and could use the versatility of that welder. However, when I go to Sears.com, there is some manner of TWO HEAT SETTING thing being sold there. It has good reviews but two heat settings is absolutely not going to work for me. 4 heat settings makes things more difficult now than they have to be.I remember reading a review back then, and popular mechanics, or some magazine did a review on it and said it was the best welder they had ever reviewed in the 110 volt range. So, what happened? Is it possible to still get that welder? I have absolutely no interest in a 220 volt machine. I appreciate any replies.
Reply:I don't know if you can still find that particular machine, maybe keep a watchful eye on craigs list for one to pop up there.   In any case, you can get a Millermatic 140 110v mig/flux welder with continuous voltage control at most local weld suppliers and they are very good machines.   I'm sure Lincoln and Hobart have their own similar to Miller's  that work well too.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:If you have a local welding shop that sells Lincoln machines, they should be able to look up the part number for you and order it from Lincoln if they don't have one on-hand.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
