Capacitor Storage

I bought a 100,000 50 volt capacitor last year and was wondering if they would go bad just setting around?I was thinking about buying a Harbor Freight welder and doing the capacitor mod but have since put that on the back burner and was wondering if they would go bad.I want to keep the capacitor so any suggestions would be appreciated.Maxus Pro-125 MigChicago Electric 90 amp DC flux-coreLincoln Electric AC 225 tombstoneO/A torchM/O mini-torch10 acres of flatland15 acres of holler
Reply:They can go bad, but ir takes years.If you slowly charge it up to it's rated voltage every year or 2, it would last indefinitely.

Reply:Depends on the type and model of the capacitor, however, storage temps for parts are generally notably higher than operating temps. As long as you didn't store it outside in the direct sunlight here in Texas, you're probably just fine.
