No serial number Miller Maxstar

I was recently gifted a lovely Miller Maxstar 200 LX from my Godfather. It's an auction item without a serial number, so we're guessing it was probably stolen at some point (I'm pretty sure he didn't know this). Is there any other place inside the machine where the serial number would be? I would like to get a TIG torch set for the machine, but the Miller rep on the phone says I need a serial number for them to recommend a torch. Any suggestions? Anyone know a good way to check the age of the thing? It says it has about 300 hrs of use on it.Thank you for any help or suggestions.
