Reply:Nothing like putting on a new flap disk when the old one is so far gone it does nothing but smoke. Pure bliss...  Then you think to yourself, "why didn't I do that an hour ago?" Oh yeah, I'm poor and they're expensive.

Reply:I like a day that I can do nothing but work in my shop without having to stop to do anything but what I want to do!  I don't get these to often.  Cooler days too!
Reply:I like it at the end of the day when the project is wraping up and I didn't have to grind any thing apart and cut it down. I love it when a plan comes together.
Reply:I like...The positives--          An ice cold Corona.            The pride of a job well done. The negatives--New metal that isn't dripping in oil, bent, twisted or gouged up.When I don't accidentally weld something in the wrong place, facing the wrong direction, cut miters in the wrong direction or cut pieces to the wrong length. When the paint doesn't run. When I don't crash the tungsten. When I can remember where was the last spot I set down my tape measure, marker, slag hammer, brush, etc. When the argon doesn't run out in the middle of the job while the customer is waiting. When that gust of wind waits to blow till after my tig bead is done. When the customer can make a final decision with no further changes. When the phone stops ringing long enough to get something done. When I don't forget to re-stock blades/wheels/wire/rod/etc and realize my error in middle of next job. When the customer's check doesn't bounce. When unforeseen problems don't cause the job to take twice as long as I estimated.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:when you BET the length of filler rod in your hand is plenty long for the weld you're doing.... you begin...dip, dip dip... oh no, rod's running short.... but you made it to the end of the weld.... and you jab the last 1/16" rod into the puddle without burning your left glove.perfect amount of filler rod..... no burnt glove.... puts a smile on my face every time.or when someone comes over to my house and points at something i made "hey, where'd you get that? I want one, too."  I'll responde with "oh, i made that.""no way...."Last edited by oxy moron; 08-16-2010 at 02:06 AM.
