This helmet has a specification list that is impressive, CSA and ANSI (2003) approvals and a price that is very attractive, but I haven't been able to find references to company or product reputation. Do these folks make a truly good product, or simply one that sounds good?http://www.metalmangear.com/Welding%...0SG/index.htmlThanks much,John Clay
Reply:Looks like an import rebadge item to me.I see the same tkype stuff at harbor freight. Northern Hydraulics carries the same carts..Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:I only have one set of eyes. I would invest in a quality hood by a real manufacture. Miller, Jackson, Lincoln, Speedglass etc.. Here's my local supplier'http://www.weldersupply.com/products...elding+Helmets
Reply:I like mine ( silver green flames.) Very responsive darkening good arc color.Head gear is fair. The grind mode is a little dark for shop grinding. Think its at 4 on grind. Only thing I don't like is I'm welding pipe and lens gets pretty messed up fast. And they aren't cheap weird size ....the inside lens isn't a 4"x2"(smaller) so your stuck buying "custom" size lenses. |
