My Lincoln welder won't weld. Has good power at the 110 and 220 plugs. Checked the welding lugs with volt meter and putting out only 75 volts no matter where the selector switch is. Does n e one have any suggestions. Thanks.
Reply:Nothing wrong with 75V OCV (Open Circuit Voltage). If you look at the rating information on the faceplate, you'll see that the maximum OCV is supposed to be 75V and it will be the same at all range settings. If it won't weld, check the cable connects at the work clamp and electrode stinger. If those are OK, see if the 75V OCV goes away when you touch the rod to the work piece. If it does, check the condition of the selector switch wiper and contacts. Also check the weld cable connections at the output studs behind the panel.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base! |
