I have a Lincoln weldpak hd and would like to convert it to mig but can't afford the conversion kit made by Lincoln. Does anyone have any other options or step by step instructions? Thanks folks!!!!!
Reply:Then, of course there's the cost of renting a bottle of gas. That could run you about 150$-200$. Welding isn't exactly a hobby for people with lint in their pockets. The weldpak HD has barely enough power to make sparks in the first place. In my opinion it's not really worth your time or money with those little gutless 115 volt units. You won't make good MIG welds without some real power backing you up.Start saving your money and buy a weld pack 150, that's what I'd recommend. How long have you owned the weld pak HD? If you just bought it within a month or so you could still exchange it for in-store credit.
