Reply:here's a blade that started out for a garden tractor and was modified to fit a quad. Latest modification is power angle.Sorry no lifting, that's now done by an electric winch. Attached Images
Reply:I know you want to build your own, but for my money, I'd find a good used or new plow like is made for 4 wheelers and adapt it to fit. They are lite yet tough as nails. When I lived up in Idaho I had one on my wheeler with an elec. winch to raise and lower it. I also fastened a 3/4" dog leash to the drum w/ the loop end attached to the plow w/ a small shackle and the cut off end attached to the drum w/ a small self drilling screw, just make sure you have 3 or 4 wraps around the drum before the line tightens up. This worked a lot better than the cable that was always piling up and working to destroy itself. Reply:At the end of snow season my son talked the salesperson at Lowes into giving him good deal on a blade so he bought one before I could build it. So on to the next project ????? Thanks to all those that tried to help. Greg |
