This came to me with a splint made from popsicle sticks and ducttape.  A replacement arm would be the proper repair. I just let myself get suckered into some tig time for a buck.  (I hope it stays in place.)  The econotig just does not go low enough to give me better control of the heat in such a small piece. Reply:need to beef that up with some DOM tubing.  maybe some 3"x1/4" cold rolled with holes punched to save weight, and dimpled for that pimp look...seriously, nice repair.  How low does the econotig go anyway?

Reply:It's probably a bad idea (just the first thing to come to my head), but what if you went DCEP by reversing your leads?  That should lower your heat input a whole bunch.
Reply:Very cool!  Its nice to see small useful daily projects.
