Running a ranger 305G . 5/32 red rod. at about 145 amps ... when filling pipe.Almost every time I stop I get this bubble/crater looking deal. Im thinking porosity but Im used to seeing 7018 porosity. So I don't know if its porosity or slag getting around my puddle, or running to hot/cold???? .  Its slowing me down having to grind it out every time. will try any suggestions tomorrow  at work. thanks.
Reply:Reduce the arc length and back step when you are terminating the bead. The cellulose coated rods have a more forcefull arc than the loy hydrogen you have been running,
Reply:Finally got a pic. It happens at times. Sometimes the hole is real big at the stops. Dont get why it happens and sometimes it doesn't. I ran a bunch of little beads to try and duplicate it and couldnt get it to happen. But when I dont want it to happen it does. Sucks.
