Finally got the liner and nozzel for my mig torch today and ran a couple beads. I am really tickled with my new to me ESAB 260. Can't wait to get a TIG torch and some argon to try my hand at TIG.Both of these beads was ran at 19.0 volts, wire feed 180, 80/20 gas @ 20CFH, .035 wireVertical Up, (this is the best I have ever done at v up)[IMG][/IMG]Horizontal fillet, left to right. I think I was a little slow in travel, or maybe I should have washed into upper plate better.[IMG][/IMG]Let me know what you think guys. The bug has totally consumed me.

Reply:i didnt know there were machines that would mig/stick and tig...live and learn.
Reply:Weldbead, yes the 260 multimaster does mig, stick, and dc tig. Mine has the optional inductance trim on it also, and the remote module for the spool gun. So far it seems to have a very stable arc. Hmmmmm now I just need to save some pennies to get:Tig torch, foot pedal, big tank of argon, and the pulse module. I think I can swing those in near future, but I think the wife may say somthing about a Hypertherm 1000.Here's a pic of my machine[IMG][/IMG]In the upper right corner is a toggle switch, right for stick, middle for mig, left for tig. |
