Bad HF Wire?

Hay guys last weekend was in the middle of a project needed MIG steal wire LWS was closed so I bought a spool of wire from HF. Wire is Wire right if it says it is the same stuff..well no...copper coated looked fine...first thing it was not quite the right size..just a little tight, would feed but was hard to get started and yep cleaned the burr off the end. Ok welded a few hours, building a steal bed on a trailer so running long beads, any way the wire started to drag and jump. Hummm so I increased the pressure on the feed rollers then it jammed. well crap took off my helmet open the side of the machine and there was rusty dust all over the inside coming off the wire and it was wound very tight. Well changed wire to some .030 that I got from my LWS and it worked like a champ. Anyone else had a problem with HF wire? Reply:Waiting for callbacks. Ok remember, HF buys a lot of closeouts, overruns and discontinued items, and you don’t always know where it comes from. I’ve bought from HF with good luck. That’s the risk you take.
