I started this particular project by drawing the desired arc on a piece of aluminum, and cutting it out with a jigsaw. Then I notched some 2" angle and set about matching my pattern in steel...Clamps, clamps, and more clamps!Once I got the first one right, the rest were easy. I just copied from the first one with clamps, tacking and welding in an irregular, but consistent pattern resulted in minimal movement when they were unclamped. And then it went right to paint... Nooo, I just didn't take any pictures of making the steel frame, or cutting up the box tube and welding on the pipe sleeves, or fabbing the raceways for the florescent lamps. Nope, didn't take any pictures of that. Definitely a blond day. But anyway, yes, white primer...What the hell! Yes, another huge leap in progress. Sorry. Here the steel frame has been wrapped with an aluminum extrusion that was sliced and welded just as the steel angle was, and then braced with the 1x2" aluminum tube. Then the entire thing was clad with aluminum sheet and painted blackThe removable aluminum casings on either side are essentially fabricated aluminum angle, with a fabricated bend in the middle. Four of them. They were fun. Very awkward to handle only tacked up.Finished product. An International Dealership sign! The sign faces are actually a vinyl impregnated nylon textile that gets stretched very tightly over the extruded aluminum frames. That's why they are so well braced internally. If ever the sign needs to be serviced, the entire extruded aluminum frame structures, with tensioned faces still in them, can be removed from the steel frame by unscrewing the black casings and accessing the bolts hidden underneath. To the right you can also see the base plate and round pole that the sign head will sleeve into.
Reply:That is coolYa gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:Very nice work. Where is your location? And how did you get seven pics in one thread? You must have not used the attach images button on the site, cause it limits me to five. (I wonder if it's telling me  something?)"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"

Reply:I'm from NY. More info in this thread, here.Oh, and I use imageshack to host my images (for free)  and then I simply insert a link back to them in my posts, just like bassboy1 says. There is an "insert image" icon in the text editor we use for typing posts to the forum, it looks like a little yellow picture of mountains. Just upload your images to imageshack (you can hold ctrl or shift to select multiple images at once), and then cut/paste the "Direct" link into the "insert image" field. Easy. And add as many as you want.
