well i fixed my 110 craftsman welder it runs a nice bead for someone who is still learning i welded 3 pieces of steel 1/8 inch a good size weld one side 1 pass 2 heat 8 speed and i thought i need to test this so i took the steel out side and got a sledgehammer/log splitter 10 pound and took a full swing i was thinking that going to break or crack the welds WRONG bent the steel welds and all i was like what no way for a 110 im happy with it
Reply:You have any pics to show us. Glad your happy and having fun with that machine. 110v machines have their uses and can work great. 1/8'' is probably the biggest you want to go with that machine. Remeber this is why 110v migs can be scary, it looks ok you hit it with a hammer and it seems to hold up but deep down in it might not have penitrated good. You can bevel bigger pieces and try but its best not to really go past 1/8'' with a 110v machine. Maybe 3/16'' if it has a higher output.Have fun and keep weldingShaneYa gotta spend money to make money!
