Hi all, customer brought in a cast iron bell with a broken support bracket yesterday, said that he had backed into it with his truck [%^^^%^%$%%], wanted to know if I could fix it without to much cost, but of course there was a piece missing, I could have cast him a new one or just welded all the pieces back together, if he had all of them. I told him what could be done, gave him a price, he said do it, so here is what he brought me, pictures, here is what I did, took a 16" diameter 3/8" thick pipe, cut a ring off of it 1 3/4" wide, cut it almost in half, shaped it, then welded the support forks to it [that he did have] also welded a pipe to it for stand at the bottom, it turned out good enough and strong enough for what the customer was willing to pay, he left happy with his bell and new support bracket, have a good one, Jeff. Reply:That tube on the bottom slides into or over something I guess ? Looks just fine to me too. I'm with the customer on this one .."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
