Reply:I run hobart flux core wire and it seems to do a good job, not the best but it is for sure not the worst. Reply:I have only ever used Hobart stick electrodes, solid wire, and flux cored wires.  I think they are all very good.

Reply:What you have to realize is there are two different Hobart lines that everyone seems to blur together. Hobart Brothers consumables are near the top of the line rods and wire. The Hobart stuff you see at the box stores, while made by the same people, is a notch below the primo stuff...but still good stuff. The Box store stuff used to be called Weldit which made differentiation easy. Now, it is simply Hobart. So, you must look at the names and AWS classifications to see what it is. Hobart FC wires that are best are Fabshield 21B and 23. Solid wire is HB-28 and Quantum Arc 6. Rods, 335A, Pipemaster 60, 418, 718, 447A and 14A are all good ones. Any other names that are usually just an AWS designation, like 7018 or ER70S-6 is probably just the lower line, but still a good overall electrode. That is close to a good overview. I may have missed something, but you should get the idea. Bottom line is Hobart stuff, no matter the level, is good stuff and not junk.QamuIs Heg qaq law' lorvIs yInqaq puS
