Sheet metal roller

Been wanting one of these for a while, this one came up on CL for $100.00. Went and looked at it and thinking what a HF one would cost I paid the man full price. Hardes part was getting it up out of his basement. Has been sitting some time but basement was fairly dry and everything seems to work and be free. May need some new bushings.      Now , it looks quite old and is definately heavy. I have not measured the diameter of the rollers but estimate them to be 2" and workable area 4'-3" wide.  Could not find a casting mark or stamp on it. Can anyone identify the unit as to who makes it and possible age, or rated capacity. I think it would do 20 or 18 ga maybe as much as 16 ga. Reply:kolot  In the modern context, for lack of a release gate, your rolls are not 'slip rolls'.  Stationary rolls were obsoleted when open-gated rolls became cost available.   Still; you bought a great set of period rolls, at a good price.If these rolls will not easily do what you want them to do, do not modify them, and don't over stress them.Offer them for sale exactly as they are, and there'll be buyers.Opus
