These spherical bushings all have a cut or crack and all in the same location. Looking at the orientation in the picture with the "cracks" at the 12:00 position, all 4 have 2 oils holes on the outer race located at the 3 and 9:00 position (shown by furthest left in picture). Is this how these are made or is there some amazing odds they all cracked in the same location? I looked up replacements and was dismayed to find they are $40 each! The next obvious question is: if these are cracked can they be welded and if so what process? Attached Images
Reply:They are made that way for ease of installation..Believe it or not..Those are really rusty....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Cat dozers with 6 way blades have bearings like that. The crack is normal, Don't weld it, you probably will not be able to get it to press in. Are those from a dozer?thermal arc mst400, va4000 feeder, lincoln 175 min, victor torches, miller s32p feeder, air arc k4000 for work. |
