This is a 16 meter bucket. I will be replacing both sides, the back and the bottom, along with all the tooth adapters and all the liner material and line bore all the holes for the attachment--pretty much a complete overhaul. The liner material is pretty much all removed in the pics and we're just starting to cut out the sides. Goin back in with 3/8 on 3/8 chromium carbide for the inside liners. Reply:It seems to be a thing around here (out west) that people collect the 1 yard buckets to make wood burning stoves out of them for their log cabins. Most of the time they have to chisel out the door way to get it to fit. That is a huge bucket! Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler

Reply:Sounds to me like you are building a new bucket rather than overhauling an exsisting one. When I first looked at that big thing I thought it was a drag line bucket.StephenMillermatic 251Miller Syncrowave 200Miller 30A SpoolgunHypertherm Powermax 30Etc., etc., etc.............Cancer Sucks!

Reply:I like the way you want to not only maintain, but improve your equipment. I work with 330 and 350 Cats every day, and a good bucket makes my job so much easier. Best - Ralph

I had a chance to see a 89 YARD Bucket (for a Drag line) and it was something to behold! Also, they have the LARGEST Hydraulic Shovel in the world with a BUCKET size of 46 cubic YARDS. The Truck that took those loads (Caterpillar 797F) was absolutely MONSTROUS @ 400 TON Capacity. It only takes 3 or 4 loads from that scoop to fill the dump.... Crazy Stuff! Cheers,

Reply:Don't have any new pics but we got both the cheeks hung and welded from the outside, still need to back gouge the inside and weld them out. Did some build up on the lip and removed about half of the inside floor. The deeper I get the worse it is. Also had a face shovel bucket come in with a bent ear on one of the clam cylinder bores, should be an "interesting" job. I am thinking of building a large "wrench" with about a 12 foot handle, heat the ear up and try to lever it back in place. If that does not work then we'll move to plan B, not sure what plan B is yet.6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers |
