I have a 72 oz. Bubba Keg to keep cool water in when I'm working, but the thing leaks like crazy when I drink out of it. Do y'all know of a good water jug that doesn't leak horribly and keeps water cool? Thanks,Kelly
Reply:lol  I use the bubba keg too - its very temperamental on getting the threads just right. When it does agree with how its tightened it'll keep ice all afternoon.  Stanley makes a good steel bodied cup- only 24 ounces or so though. When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, "This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know," the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives.
Reply:We've had good luck with the 2, 3 and 5 gallon industrial (yellow and red) Igloo cooler jugs. On one or two we've had to get new spouts over the years because they leaked, but all in all they seem to hold up the best on the trucks to the abuse and last the longest as well as keep the water cold, often holding block ice for more than one day. We usually use 1/2 gal jugs full of water we freeze in the shop freezer as our ice as well as a "reserve" of water for the end of the day..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:The satnley vaccum ones rule if they made a bigger one I buy a new jug every year trying to find one that doesn't leak. Only one I had that didn't leak wasn't insulated good enough. Always had pi22 warm water buy lunch. Anyone else finds a good one I"ll take two. Like gas cans only way to get a good one is to buy a safety can otherwise they leak and the spouts break.Millermatic 252millermatic 175miller 300 Thunderboltlincoln ranger 250smith torcheslots of bfh'sIf it dont fit get a bigger hammer

Reply:I second the Igloo job site 5 gallon water kegs too.  Once you get the interior cooled just keep adding ice in the morning and call it good for ice cold water all day long.  Replacement parts and standard accessories are also readilly available if you dont feel like making a holder or cup dispenser and they are perfect for the gator aid packets that come from our safety and first aid kit guy too.  Add one package every 2 days and you will never get heat cramps from electrolite imballance and never get overwhelmed by too much flavoring or diahrea from too much dye either.  Just my .02, but many years in the field have made me a believer in the good old Igloo,BobI'm spending my Kids inheritance, I dont like him that much anyway!!!!!!Enuff tools to do the job, enough sense to use em.Anybody got a spare set of kidneys?  Trade?
Reply:Alot of true info here. I got rid of my bubba keg because it leaked. Every one I had leaked. The small mug, the big mug and the keg. What a waste of money.I drink ALOT. When I am just driving the truck all day, I just freeze a gallon of water. As it melts I can drink. I have A/C so it does last. However, if it is melting too fast in the middle of summer, then I carry a lunch cooler. And then I just either fill it half way then freeze or I will fill it with ice cubes then water. If I am outside on a jobsite all day, then I break out the 5 gal igloo cooler/dispenser. You can find them at Walmart, Sams and Home Depot pretty cheap. But any construction/contractor supply house will carry them. And they're great for making jungle juice, for those wild summer parties!!!"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:Another vote for Igloo. Keep them clean and wash out with a mild bleach/water solution as needed and before storing them.
Reply:5 Gallon Igloo, and you can put your beer in with the ice water for the end of the dayDisclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:yes igloo i think there $20.00 at home depot Attached Images
Reply:Walmart sells a clear plastic bp free jug that holds 8 glasses of water for around 2 or 3 bucks.  I fill mine up the night before and put it in the freezer then put it in an insulated thermal bag with a freezer pack and my lunch and it all stays good the whole day.Welding Supervisor Department of Corrections.
Reply:i have had good luck with tthe 1 gallon igloo brand.  you have to tighten the crap out of it but hasn't leaked yet.  about a year old

Reply:Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. I might get me a 5 gal. igloo or maybe the 2 gal. igloo I saw at Home Depot the other day. Thanks,Kelly
Reply:They are expensive but are indestructable and really well insulated. They are too expensive for my blood but I bought one for one of my hired hands as a gift for a job well done. He brings all the drinks to the job now and they are always cold.
Reply:Last night I bought a blue Lowe's 5 gal. Igloo water cooler/jug. I plan to put it to good use soon!Kelly
Reply:I was on a site www.dryjug.com.  Seems like someone is trying to do something about these leaky jugs
