Hydraulic Cylinder Replacement. Cardboard Baler.

Reply:I have heard of several baler accidents around here, usually involves new employees not familiar with equipment.  gotta be careful around all the hydraulic muscle.  ralph
Reply:I'm sure it's all been handled, but what I wonder about is that the replacement cylinder appears to have a larger bore diameter than the original. If that's so, and if system pressure isn't reset, that could make for a baler buster.Good Luck

Reply:Not the length but the diameter, which in the picture appears to be larger; maybe it's not.Anyway, more piston area would dramatically increase force, possibly beyond the frame's capacity. Not trying stick my nose in too far, or do the parts man's job, just something I noticed.Good Luck
Reply:What happened to the first cylinder? Worn, leaking piston? Cavitation (I'd expect that in the pump, not the cylinder), rust from condensation and poor maintenance? Just curious.BTW, I was waiting to see a HAY BALER!
