Hello,Just received my new Everlast 210EXT and was hoping to tackle a job where I work. I need to fix some shelving but the closest 220v plug is over a 100' away.Is it safe to have an extension cord this long? If so, what gauge is recommended (3 wire cable)? I don't want to burn the store down (haha). Thanks fellas
Reply:Yes you can use a cord that long safely. Wire size will be a function of length of cord and max amp draw. I don't know how many amps that machine needs to run, so I can only guess at what you need. Your manual should tell you max amp draw. When in doubt go larger in wire size to be safe. My 50' cord that I use is #6 ( what I had) and is overkill for what I need ( 50 amps)..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear.
