Reply:How about a wheel stop, probably removable, to fit on a trailer when carrying one of those 'small' off-road vehicles ("ATVs).

Reply:Do ya think ya made it heavy duty enough to hold that ONE cylinder?! It sure looks good. I wish I had the patients to do that quality of work for something like that. It usually ends up being something I need NOW, and I slap it together. NICE work!"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:Dosent the DOT say that you are supposed to carry a cylinder upright?
Reply:Does it have an ejection button for those pesky tailgaters?DOT and OSHA cant make up their minds... Half of them say yay and the other say nay. Had a federal osha guy bitch about an acetylene cylinder being on it's side, but no problem with the oxygen right next to it in the back of our truck. I guess the guy really cares about our regulators (for every so much time on it's side, you have to stand it up for x times that time or the acetone will flow out with the acetylene and muck up your regulators.)It is a small bed. I made it a few years back for a customer. I pulled the whole build off in about 8 hours. Attached ImagesCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:I meant to add, but I really like the design of the bed on th truck. Any ideas on how much its weight compares with the original bed?
Reply:But, DOT is who is charge when you are transporting.

Reply:Jason: I'm not entirely sure what it weighs, but 2 guys can easily pick the whole structure off by hand. I'll keep toting my tanks the same way as everyone else.. Till DOT steps up to the plate and pulls over a NASA load, I'll keep it up.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:Cool idea but what happens if you slam on the brakes or hit something??????? I'm not seeing restriction from sliding forward enough to come out of bracket securing the bottom of the tank, or am I missing something??HH187Hobart 500i plasma cutterClark 4.5" GrinderDewalt 14" chop saw30 gallom 1.6 hp compressor10 gallon pressure pot sand blasterlots of hand tools
Reply:its not that the acetone will muck up the regulators thats a problem, the problem is if the acetone leaks out, the acetylene will become unstable and combust.
