Hey guys found the forum a couple weeks ago and been spending a lot of time reading since. Lot of awsome info here.My buddy has an aluminum truck wheel that's cracked, he is going to bring it by tomorrow so I can look at it. I have never welded a wheel before nor something I would consider as important to be done right. I may have more questions once I see it but right now I am mainly wondering if I should do any sort of heat treatment after it's welded?I will probably do at least a little pre heat since my tig is running on a 50 amp line and I can only run it up to about 50%.I have 4043 filler. I assume this is a decent choice?Any other tips to doing this?
Reply:lol nevermind looks like someone else just started up a thread on this very topic. I'll just ask in that thread.
