Ok, I've been trying to figure this out for a few months now. I need to getter done I almost out of argon.  Getting tanks filled is a royal pain. Heavy lift  hard to try and tie down in the bed of a truck and hooking up a trailer for a bottle of gas well... I am too lazy for that.The idea. A poor man tommy gate,kind of   Something like a 2-wheel dolley hand truck . strap or chain 1 or 2 tanks on it.  wheel it over to a truck and slide it into the 2'' receiver hitch and lift it up about 20'' or so just high enuff to tranport safely down the road.How to lift?#1  cable winch (boat winch)#2  hydraulic bottle jack with a scissors #3  cam action use a lever leverage with spring pinswhat are your thoughts?Thanks Daye
Reply:You obviously are certain your nearest welding supply cant set up bottle exchange delivery for a nominal fee?  Why not build a small "A" from with a manual chain hoist?  If you cant slide a bottle up a tailgate, I am sure it would benefit you in other areas as well.Lots of toys.
