Hey guys, Just wanted to say this seems like great forum you have going here, with some very knowledgeable people. A little about myself, Iv been welding for about 10 years. Tig is my preferred process and the one that I have the most experience at as well. The pics I'm posting may not be the best representation of my abilities, but after seeing a couple posts with similar pics I thought it would be fun to try out and see how it turns out. They didnt come out as good as I normally like to see my work come out, but you can get the idea i guess. I can dial it in a bit more I just only had my lunch break to fool around. Well since I'm here I might as well add that if anyone knows of someone looking for a Tig welder in the southern CA area (or any area I don't mind traveling or possibly relocating) please let me know. Id be very grateful, I got notice that I will be laid off before the beginning of next year. So I better start looking. Oh I also carry a current D17.1 class a cert for 4130 and various other steels and alloys if that makes a difference. Thanx Andy Attached Images
Reply:Ahhhh the pop can and razor blade welds, looks nice. What filler wire dia. did you use for the razor blades?
Reply:.007 wire for the blades. Im not very happy with the cans, the wire i had at the time was way too heavy. Plus i did'nt use a fixture of any sort to hold them so....i was a little limited. I just didnt have any time to expiriment <----geez, what a whiner..huh? Haha. Oh those were done with a Miller Dynasty if anyone is curious.Andy
Reply:Again nice work. Were you pulsing the razor blades?
Reply:If anybody else is looking for a welder that can weld cans all day long I would also like to apply except for the razor blades...I think people would like to keep there razors sharp before they use them::::......!!!!
Reply:No did'nt use the pulser..... although i do pulse with the pedal on occasion... a foreman I worked under ages ago would not allow anyone to use pulse for some personal reason i guess. He was an old timer and didnt really "get it". I guess he thought that if he couldnt figure it out no one could. So after awhile i just got more comfortable without it.
Reply:Welcome to the forum Andy! I hardly do any tig at all, but if I did, I sure wish I was able to get the results in your pics. Good job!A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter Victor O/A
