Just got my tig kit for my mm300 yesterday and gave it a try.I have only tried tig a few times in the past. So I started with 12ga stainless coupons with 3/32 red tungsten,100 amps.I had about a 1/8 to 3/16 stickout with 15 cfh flow. Outside corners and no filler.I really need to work on the termination of the weld. Attached Images

Reply:I take it you wire brushed it? The colors can help indicate if you're overheating it.Lincoln 175HD
Reply:So what do you think of the mashine?Miller 180,Esab 300I TIG Lincoln Stick [1950's} Victor Torches, Dewalt chop saw, Enco 9x48 Mill, 48x60 home shop with Gantry crane and Pit.
Reply:I owned a mm260 a few years ago. This is the same machine and it welds excellent. The tig is better than I would have thought, easy lift start and the remote pedal is very smooth and precise. The wire drive in these are very nice, thats my only beef with the 280 pro I had.I haven't tried stick yet.For the money I have in this machine I am happy.1763.00 shipped to my door and with the trouble I had with a little shipping damage and the issue with the 280 pro Chuck sent me the mm300 pro kit free. Those kits are not cheap. They are also replacing the panels that were scratched and sent me two new casters and a box of tips, nozzles and insulators. |
