So I'm buliding a bracket for my older black n decker grinder. And I'm planing on mounting it to my concret block wall and I'm not sure what hard wear to use. I was thinking of using tap con screws. The grinder is about 10 to 12 lbs more or less . Should I be using something other than screws. I will be sure to show you all picks . Thanks againMillermatic 211 with mvp plugs miller titanium series welding helmetstihl chain saws 8 ft welding table
Reply:If you can lcate the mounting holes over the hollows of the block it might be better to use toggle bolts.                                              MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:I've used tapcons to support all sorts of heavy use shelves in block and concrete. They are my go to choice for mounting adjustable shelf standards to basement block walls for shelving. I've even used them to temporarily mount 2x's to concrete walls to support planks we used as scaffolding. The real key is the quality of the block walls and the number of fasteners. 10-12 pounds and 4 fasteners works out to 3 pounds each roughly and I know single tapcons will support way more in decent block. I probably wouldn't go less than 3-4 simply for safety sake myself, though 2 would most likely be way more than needed to support the weight..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
