Reply:That's exactly what he means. A moldboard is an earth-turning plow, not a pushing-stuff blade.(That said, you can get a rear blade attachment for a tractor that looks just like a snowplow, but mounted on the 3-point hitch.)
Reply:Really? Do a google search on the following term and then contact companies like Meyer, Boss, Henderson, etc. and tell them they don't know what they are building, or talking about."snow plow moldboard" Originally Posted by OkieDaveThat's exactly what he means. Reply:Along with every major manufacturer out there....Also, to the O.P., check out letstalksnow and plowsite forums, both have had plow rebuilds with pics, over the years... Reply:Me too! For years I used an F-350 with a Diamond. Every year I was welding something or other... Current setup is a John Deere with FEL, and either the back blade or rear blower. Much more durable, but unfortunatly no cab, ah well, someday Originally Posted by 7A749Yeah. Reply:To those of you who do plow repairs. All I can say is thank you. as it allows me access to the mountains I love so much. Granted out here you only see actual plows on DOT vehicles. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger

Reply:When I started on hiway construction long ago the old timers called a dozer or the blade on a grader a moldboard. I still do. Just before I retired I was talking about the moldboard on the D9-L I was running and a youngster asked me what I was referring to. I said, pointing at the dozer, "that's a moldboard".
