I just got a Miller Challenger 172 and I need tips and a nozzle. The only place open today is Home Depot and Lowes, they both sell Lincoln.  Will they fit my Miller? Thanks, BigB
Reply:I dont think they will work on Miller equipment.  If you have a Tractor Supply nearby open, they sell Hobart brand tips and nozzles that may fit.  Nice thing about owning Lincoln, can pretty much get stuff any day of the week even if local welding supply is closed.A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter   Victor O/A
Reply:I believe the tips are similar, but can't find any to double check the threads on right now. The nozel may be different. I want to say the tips my buddy grabbed at Sears fit my MM185, and I think he had some Lincoln tips as well he brought over. (He wanted to use .023 wire and I usually only keep .030/.035 for that machine) Best bet, just take yours with and match them. I know the Hobart tips and nozels should interchange with the Millers..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Some of the smaller machines use Tweco compatible tips so they may interchange.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Well I looked at the Lincoln, it looked different and I wasn't sure it would work. Anyway I managed to get the old tip free from the nozzle and cleaned it all up and was able to weld today. I'll be able to get Miller parts tomorrow. This is my first Mig, I am liking it a lot. I got it from a buddy for $450, with a tank, gauges and a cart. It has been very well cared for, still looks new,I am the one that got too close to the work and fused the tip to the nozzle. Thanks for all the help
Reply:There's a tad bit of difference in the thread on the tips. The tweco is a bit more coarse I believe. Some folks just go ahead and crank them in the H10/M10 adapters anyway. Pretty forgiving material. I've not seen any of the other piece parts that were close enough to mess with, that doesn't mean they don't exist tho.
Reply:Get yourself one of those small fly fishing boxes, get a few diffusers, a couple .028,030,035 tips, insulators, allen screws etc other consumables, their not expensive, put it in the wire spool cabinet of your mig then when you have trouble it doesn't cost you down time.
