Photos of my welding machine dolly. This is the first brand new TIG machine I have ever owned. It is not finished but below is a photo of another dolly for a syncrowave 250 that I saw on the internet that I really liked.  I am making mine similar to that one.Mine will have a shelf for a water cooler.Photo of the Syncrowave 200.The paint is Rustoleum industrial spray and is #7524 safety paint. Matches perfectly.Below is a photo similar to what I am building.I have the tubing already bent and painted, just waiting for paint to dry to finish.Last edited by Donald Branscom; 01-18-2011 at 04:00 PM.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder
Reply:Are you going to put a bottle rack on it? Also what about some way to roll the leads up without laying them on the machine? Just a couple thoughts.LukeMillerMatic 212Mkita chop sawand a head full of ideas

Reply:Today I bolted on the side rails that I fabricated yesterday.I used self drilling self tapping 1/4 inch bolts into 1/8 thickness rectangle tube.I used my Miller 110V wire feed to make the welds. It was extra work to make the bolt on railing but some time I might want to remove them for modification or maintinence of the welding machine.Onto phase IIILast edited by Donald Branscom; 01-19-2011 at 04:50 PM.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder

Reply:The top rails installed.Next I am going to make a tray for the top to put the water cooler on and other things. So this entire top cage thing can be unbolted if necessary.Last edited by Donald Branscom; 01-19-2011 at 07:10 PM.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder

Reply:looks great i think the only people that buy miller welding carts (three easy payments) are spendingother peoples money
Reply:Today I designed ,fabricated, and welded the bottom gas bottle mount plate to the bottom wheel support.I used 10 ga. plate 10 inches x 12 inches and folded up  each end after scoring with a cut off wheel. Then welded the scored groove.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder

Reply:Looks good, and thanx for the ideas. I have one big cart that houses my 180SD, MM250, and all bottles, plus OXY/ACET, with a box on top for my consumables, and space underneath for clamps, etc. but it's just too damn big for my space. I was supposed to be building a 40X30 shop, but the county shut me down. So now I gotta break down the setup so I can actually work in my space. I like you're idea there.Chainz________O/AMiller 250XMiller SD 180Spoolmatic 30AThermal Dynamics Pak 50and a bunch of other crap......
Reply:Here's a ****ty pic of the mostrosity of a cart I'm dealing with now. Gonna be tearing it down soon as previously mentioned. It's just too freakin big. Reply:Looks like you have your S@#$$ together! But can you push it??? LOL WOW!I like the solution for storing the filler wires!! Very good.Last edited by Donald Branscom; 02-02-2011 at 04:35 PM.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder
Reply:I moved onto the mounting and connections on my welding cart I was showing you.Would you like to see  It?OK...This is the shelf and it is made from 14 ga. and is 20 inches long and 8 inches wide and sits 2 inches above the rails.I mounted the cooler transverse to the welding machine because the filler for the water is on the front and if water was spilled and it was facing forward the water COULD get on the welding machine control panel. The exhaust of warm air faces forward and the intake is on the rear .The space left between the cooler shelf and front of the machine will have two trays .One tray for my welding helmet and one tray for accessories. This photo shows the power cord for the cooler to the recepticle on the front of the welding machine. If you are connecting the Coolmate cooler to the Syncrowave 200 you will need 3 additional parts notgiven to you with the welding machine or the water cooled torch or e water cooler. You will need ONE 5/8-18 female to female coupler R/H for the gas hose.Connects the solenoid adapter short male hose to the male hose coming from your argon tank. You will need ONE 5/8-18 Female to female L/H for the water return. It connects the short hose from the solenoid adapter to the water return hose (top) on the water cooler.AND you will need a 3 foot water hose with a male fitting L/H 5/8-18 on both ends to connect between that adapter solenoid and the water cooler. You are done.BTW Even if you put the cooler on the BOTTOM you will still need a short water hose.Last edited by Donald Branscom; 02-02-2011 at 04:33 PM.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder

Reply:These are the three things you will need to hook up a Coolmate 1 cooler to a Miller syncrowave 200.These parts do not come with the welding machine and they do not come with the water cooler. Two couplings mentioned previously, and a hose with two L/H male 5/8-18 barbed hose fittings.I used a actylene hose because it is red and matches the Miller return hose on the adapter solenoid. The welding stores usually have stock hoses but are 12 or 25 feet long. That is all unless they make up hoses. You will notice that the L/H fittings have a notch on the hex portion of the fittings. That goes for all mechanical machines BTW.Last edited by Donald Branscom; 02-03-2011 at 03:35 PM.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder

I had permits in place, but they put a setback in that I was not able to work with. Didn't notice it until we went to dig the footing. Tried to get a variance, and got denied. Though I can appeal it for $1000.00.

I am going to ask one more time.Other web info says the red from the TORCH is hot water coming FROM the torch and should go to the top fitting on the cooler for RETURN. Very confusing.
Reply:Make sure to use the Diagram/schematic that says it is the CORRECT DIAGRAM.The first diagram I posted was incorrect as far as the connections to the cooler.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder
