I was wondering if there where any good sites out there for pricing metal. I want to start building some things but have no materials.
Reply:www.speedymetals.comwww.onlinemetals.combut do yourself a favor and look in the yellow pages for a local supplier, much cheaper.
Reply:Ya definately check out the local suppliers..I usually buy the stock 24' lengths of tube etc..But it can be a pain in the *** to get them to just quickly cut it in half, so you can fit it into/onto your vehicle..Ive been thinking about a cordless sawzall
Reply:thanks guys. I do have a local places just to like have something to look at as far as sizes and shapes that are soled.
Reply:expect to pay somewhere between $0.50 and $1.00 per pound of mild steel depending on the shape. Plate tends to be the cheapest while anything cold rolled gets a little pricey. When I am figuring out a project, I calculate how much it will weigh, and that gives me a ballpark of what it should cost.ars sine scientia nihil est |
