Anything I should know about setting up my PT275 to arc weld?

This is sort of a double sided question because I am a total arc welding noob but there is enough info on the web I feel I can get started and see how it goes from there. I just ordered a stinger for my PT275 and will surely want to play with it as soon as it arrives. I am just curious if it's pretty much as easy as hooking up the stinger, setting it to the right polarity and switching it to arc welding mode or if there's anything else I should know about before I jump in.Lincoln precision TIG 275Millermatic 140 MIG
Reply:Also, the local welding shop I was talking to suggested I start getting familiar with 7018 because that's what he would need me to know if he ever brought me in to do stick welding. I'm wondering how lax I can be with the rod as far as heating it and how long I can let it sit out and still use it and such when I'm just messing around and practicing?Lincoln precision TIG 275Millermatic 140 MIG
