I have repaired almost everything so far..Until this.A Snow Shoe.My buddy Mike is a member of a search and rescue team in New Hampshire..They get all the fun jobs..Anyway he had a malfunction with one of his shoes last week and figured I could fix it.."Yeah no problem" was my response..The outside of the shoe was stamped aluminum but the inside diggers are steel...So rather than take it all apart to do this I figured "What the heck I will just weld over the rivet and everything"..So I did.Warning..It's not pretty.Pics below..#1 The shoe..#2 The broken piece where the ring is..#3 Hold in vice..#4 Area to repair..#5 Done..This ain't going anywhere now.. ...zap!Last edited by zapster; 02-23-2011 at 08:52 PM.I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Some of those snow shoes can get kinda pricey but they are still built no stronger than needed for the occasional user. Good fix. You saved him shelling out some bucks earlier than he needed to. That piece didn't flex there because in needed to. It flexed there because they built it as light as they could and still squeak by."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
