Carbon Arc ??

Have been told by more than 1 not to Carbon Arc with the SA200 as it could damage the machine, that being said of course many say they have done it. Question is , does the SA 400 have heavy enough windings to do a fair amount of CA without hurting the windings, I am not talking about all day, but for occasional bucket and plow work. My first instinct says it should be fine, anybody have any thoughts?    Have the chance to pick up the 400 in the dollar and amp range, always wanted one but they are a tank. It has 1 cyl that has no compression but runs and welds like it is, could be burned valve , could be just stuck. Reply:You would be good to go with a SA-400 running on all cylinders.Lincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age. Last count on Short Hoods was 13 in possession.
