I sold my LN25 because I couldn't seem to get it to work with my PowerMig350MP and it was part of a trade for my Precision Tig 275.But I loved the convenience of my LN25.Now I have decided that I want to leave aluminum in the PM350 and steel in a suitcase. If I could figure out how to do that I would be happy. I don't want a spool gun. The machine is set up for a spoolgun though. You can run an LN25 on a CC machine like the PT275 but I never tried it. I think I want to. Has anyone done that? That would give me a lot of flexibility. Dangit, now I gotta buy a new LN25.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:A VS feeder like an LN 25 will not run solid wire well off a CC powersource. It will run large diameter FC wire in spray though. From your post I don't think  running a VS feeder in CC mode will probably do what you want if you are looking for  "traditional" solid wire mig. For that you will need a CV power source. As far as running a suitcase off your PM 350, I can only guess. If this was me, I'd look at it from the stand point of getting the PM350 to run the suitcase as a "spoolgun". This would disengage the drive system and engage the contactor to give you power. My other thought would be to instal a manual switch to cut out the drive on the machine and then rig a jumper to engage the contactor so the lead is hot FT. Duane or one of the other guys more electronically minded probably will have an idea how to make this work..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:There is an outfit that makes cables to do just that. I can't find the link, but a user named Brand X posted about them a while back (either here or on the Hobart forum). He got a cable to connect an LN-25 to a C300, which is similar to the PM 350. Might try sending him a PM.Oops, just found it:http://www.justarc.com/JohnLast edited by Silicon-based; 11-19-2012 at 11:19 PM.A few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Should be able to jumper D & E on the six pin plug.  With the switch in spool gun. welder should power up with out drive motor running. Gas valve may be powered.Connect a standard LN 25 across the weld terminal. There are five different LN25 units. old model LN 25 with and with out control cable.Current LN 25 pro. across the arc and duel power. And the LN25M that only works with power wave equipment. The LN25 pro duel power. can operate across the arc or with a feeder control cable, it will run like a bench feeder.
Reply:The PM-350 has a switch for the Spool-gun, so just jumping the wires will work fine. (No resister needed to auto sense like with the C-300)  What was interesting is, the Lincoln Powerwave group gave me the Info I needed.  You will have to run in the #5 or #6 setting for dual-shield Dea from Just arc is a good guy to work with..Your gas value will always be on, but you will just plumb gas to your feeder direct anyway. I have my LN-25 pro hooked up to my Esab through my spool-gun contactor wires. I keep dual-shield in that unit. I really like the LN-25 pro, because it seems to run on about anything I have used it on. Down low is really good too. You would have a real tough time tell it from a bench model like a LF-72. Which i have too. Takes the same drive rolls as your Powermig 350, and with the Tweco 2/4  bushing, the same gun fits too. Just need a different contactor plug for the LN-25. I tend to use female dinse on the machine, so everything can swap out/ change over easy. I ran a Hobart 2210 feeder of of my Powermig 300, and just got 120 power off the wall. You could pick up a Thermal Portafeed 17a, and do the same. You can find new in box for about $350, . Those are really good feeders too. Many options not just a Suitcase CC-CV across the arc style. I believe the MP-350 has a 120 volt receptacle on it too. I know some of the smaller units have one, or did have.Last edited by Brand X; 11-20-2012 at 03:17 AM.Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
