Sears welder is it worth it

Ive been in the market for a 220v stick welder for a while getting tired of running to work or my buddies if I need to weld somthing my 110v mig wont handle.Ive found a 220v 140amp dc 230 ac stick welder They want $150.. Price seems fair or is it just a waste? Attached Images

Reply:Likely worth the price. The dc side is a big advantage. I wouldn't even consider it without dc. Looks like it has been used some. Very little to go wrong with this type of machine. The current adjustment is a little hinky with the squeeze and slide arrangement, but probably works just fine. Should run 1/8" rod and smaller pretty well.

Reply:Nothing wrong with that as long as you can try it out. Haggle a bit, but its worth it with the DC capability, as another poster pointed out.Now you'll get the itch to add a scratch start tig set-up. Reply:It's certainly worth the $150 if it works OK, but you might try offering a bit less to see if he takes it. If it works and he balks at less money you should definitely give in and pay him the $150. Reply:Not bad price. That reminds me of my old  Miller thunderbolt. It has pin connectors that go in the machine. You can easily add cable or a set of cable connectors . Good luck!

Reply:Certainly worth the money. Around me AC only machines usually run about $150. AC/DC ones usually about $100 more. As said there is very little to go wrong with those machines..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:I have a similar welder. Manuals are available at managemylife dot com.Click on manuals and enter the model number. (mine is model 934.20129).
