Small pit i made to have on job site. Made out of 14" x 1/4" pipe x 30" long. Used #9 expanded and 1/2" x 1/2" angle to make grate around outside.Last edited by Swamp rat; 05-08-2011 at 03:31 PM.

Reply:Good day mate, sweet job. Could you tell me what kind of paint did you use?I'm building simmilar BBQ from old LPG tank and fired her up today - burned most of the old paint of, so would need something food safe>CheersJohnDon't trust the light in woman's eyes, that's just sun shining through her empty skull...
Reply:Man... that is nice!
Reply:I used a high heat Engine Block satin black spray paint. No need to be food safe - only sprayed outside, after a couple cookings the inside will start to be seasoned and stop any rust from starting. Good luck on yours, post us a couple pics.
Reply:Sweet looking grill !
Reply:Thanks guys - was a fun project , and even better using it.

Reply:ED Mac - to season it i do all my pits same as a cast iron pot. Get it just over warm and hold that temp for a hour then wipe with hog lard or oil, then close it back up and let fire burn out. I do this a couple times then its ready to go depending on what you cook and how often lets you know when to redo it.
