Reply:Zero, pick up a copy of, Gas Metal Arc Welding by Miller. Tons of great info on solid/gas wire, nothing on Self Shielding Flux core wire. There are a few web sites that have Flux core info, but youll have to find them. Also look at the wire manufactures sites for info.As for 0.045 wires in the Clarke, no. at 130 amps max youre limited to 0.030 and 0.035 max.
Reply:yea i'd like to find some good fluxcore stuff for now. i dont have the cash to get a bottle just yet.

Reply:check the label on the old spool, and match the size wire, or if you have different size tips and rollers you can experiment with a different size wire..030 flux core does a really good job in the smaller welders. It can be purchased in small rolls, or 10# rolls."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Don't know where you are but TSC has Hobart wire. I get most of my wire/rods there because the LWS isn't very local, about 40 miles one way.HH 187Miller Bluestar1EAHP AlphaTig 200X

Reply:I wouldnt invest in a 10 lb. roll until Ive tried a few brands and settled on something i like. Stick with the 2 lb rolls until you make a decision. |
