How does one figure out which one to buy? Have esab 875 Anyone else ever heard of this problem and/or what would be the solution?
Reply:Which 875 do you have? Looks like some are 230v 1 or 3 phase,some 460 volt 3 phase, some 50 hz, etc. Didn’t see any 230v.60hz 3 phase.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite

Reply:A pic of the rating plate would be immensely helpful.
Reply:The stick and tig take a large converter. Mig welder takes a smaller size.I build mine it can be simple as using a single phase motor 3/4hp and a [three phase motor star wound 5hp] at same rpm. This will run very large welderDave Originally Posted by HarryvanHow does one figure out which one to buy? Have esab 875 Anyone else ever heard of this problem and/or what would be the solution?
Reply:I believe you will get much more response if you post your question in the electrical section right here: https://weldingweb.com/vbb/forums/35-Electrical
Reply:If your machine needs 50Hz, thats not something that a typical phase converter will be able to give you if it is operating off of 60Hz "power". It wont change the frequency of the input voltage waveform. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:Yes I'm aware of that. The OP mentioned 50Hz input, hence my post clarifying the difference. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! HTP Invertig 400HTP Invertig 221HTP ProPulse 300HTP ProPulse 200 x2HTP ProPulse 220MTSHTP Inverarc 200TLP HTP Microcut 875SC
