Ok need some help. I would like to get a MIG but dont have the money for one right now. I'm doing some work that is a lot of welding on 1" Sq tubing. I dont use the TIG i have much right now and i have the SA200 for stick welding. Should i sell the Lincoln 300/300 TIG for a MIG. I would like a Lincoln 216 or 256. Or a Millermatic 252.And if so is any one up for trades in the lower part of MI???Thanks for any help or input guys.Lincoln SA 200 Lincoln Idealarc 300/300 TIG
Reply:If you don't use it, sell it and get the Mig you need.
Reply:That's a tough call, I personally like to have 1 of each and hang onto almost all of the machines I aquire. Now that said the Mig is very effective on most houshold projects and black Iron fab jobs. Now the TIG is a little slower but will weld a wider variety of material down to very thin stuff. I would try to save up and by the MIG when I could, but I would keep the TIG you have. A new or even used TIG comparable to what you have is EXPENSIVE."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251 Syncrowave 300 30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200 1 short hood SA250 SAM 400
Reply:Sell it and get the red or blue "250-something" series mig and be done with it. Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller 625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita Baileigh NRA Life Member
Reply:Thanks for your input guys. I was talking to a older man today and he said i need to keep that welder, "that welder was the best thing for Lincoln but also bad cuz it was unstoppable." "Keep It!" I take it as it was so good no one got new welders or took it in for repairs? But i think im going to keep it and start saving. Or sell my trailer. My boss just got a new skid-loader trailer i can use. Anyone want to buy it or tade? lolLincoln SA 200 Lincoln Idealarc 300/300 TIG
Reply:Buy a LN-25 & use it with the Tig 300 it will work fine , there is a vv cv switch in side . Much better than any mini mig 190 amps or less. Save for a Lincoln 252 but the LN -25 can run 400 amps. |
