Constructed this over Thursday and Friday of last week in preparation for a big party we have at my frat every year. We usually end up just throwing a few large coolers on the ground and I thought I'd be nice to have them elevated.I used 20' of 1"x1" 11 gauge and 20' of 1"x1" 14 gauge. The top part is 5' x 1 1/2'I welded the whole thing using a Sears 50 amp arc welder I got of of CL for $30. The welds are garbage but I did feel like I progressed while completing it. I was proud when I put the legs on then put it on the ground and all the legs touched the ground evenly. It served its function holding 3 large coolers filled with water, ice and beer (~800 lbs). I was in a huge rush when I was finishing it up so didn't really have time to clean it up. I need to put some paint on it so it won't rust as rapidly the next go around.Anyway, cheers |
