I apologize if this should be in a different section, but has anyone seen (or better, tried out) the Northern Tool Stick/Tig/Mig 3 on 1 machine? Includes a spool gun as well as the mig gun and has a slew of good reviews. Tig torch is separate. Price almost makes it worth buying just to see. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...5145_200485145
Reply:After reading all the reviews, and for that price, I really don't know that you could go wrong. That is a lot of bang for your buck.Check out my channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkz...bZg8AYNXGqBjZQ"Both oligarch and tyrant mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of arms." - Aristotle
Reply:I think that you should decide what specifically you need to weld and then look for a machine that meets those requirements. Regardless of the reviews, a "cheap" welder is a "cheap" welder. You can get a nice small Lincoln or Miller mig welder for not much more than that.

Thermal Arc's 181i is a DC only inverter that might be a better option for a couple hundred bucks more. It's been tested, and depending on your needs, it works great (my opinion). The spoolgun and TIG torch generally come separate, but there's always a deal to be found somewhere. |
