IH Wishbone

Has any one ever welded a IH tractor wishbone.Its on the quick hitch.
Reply:Is this the draw bar attachment for a 2 point hitch.  Probably forged steel.  Can you post a picture.Dan D.
Reply:Thats what it is and it is forged steel. It broke on one side close to were the two sides are joined together.
Reply:If it is forged just vee it out and weld with 7018

Reply:If you preped the joint well enough you will be fine.  I fixed one once where one side came lose and tore the crap out of the side that stayed hooked up.  I think it was on an 806 gas.Dan
Reply:This is on a 560. It look to be tempered forged steel. I talked to some farmers that had IH that had this wishbone and they all had a story. To me it looks weak for a tractor of this size. If it were my rig I would rebuild the deal some how.
Reply:Once I welded the upper trunion shaft on a V8 Massey.  That was a job.
