I prefer the excaliber and the Lincoln rep told me that the -1 has better stacking properties for uphill and overhead type work. He said that pipe welders are really liking it.I was wondering if anyone has used it and what you think.

Reply:Both the Atomic Arc and the Excalibur are really nice running rods especially for vert up work. I like the way the metal flows smoothly to fill the groove.
Reply:Third vote for Atom arc.... and -1 is my fav no matter what brand. My name's not Jim....
Reply:The Excalibur has a less smokey flux so you are able to see better but the metal does not lay as nice as the Esab. The Esab is a little harder to see but I like it way better until I get to the very top of the pipe, at which point I struggle to see the weld pool through all the smoke.UA Local 598
