Bolting a Bobcat 225 to my truck?

So i'm getting ready to do some small jobs while i'm in welding school, i've got a Miller Bobcat 225 and I'm wondering if I should build a frame and bolt it down on my '03 F350 Dually or just let it sit loose in the bed?"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. Reply:bolt it down, lest you get in a wreck and it tries to come thru the back window like happened to me. 3 weeks after I put my machine in a cow walked out in the highway and I hit it doing 65.
Reply:If you don't bolt it down, sooner or later you will need to make a sudden change in direction and your welder will flip over. Loose welders have also been known to vanish in the night if not well secured. They sometimes do anyway. Reply:We got one at work that had a retainer bar holding it in a service truck.Truck rolled, welder cases took a beating when it flew out.Insurance company totaled it.I won't give much for it because in my opinion, you don't know what happened to the engine/gen.Bolt it down and keep it from walking away at night.

Reply:Maybe even go so far as to put a small tack on a couple of the more accessible bolts.  If they want the welder bad enough they may go to the trouble of trying to unbolt it.  A couple of small tacks could easily be ground off if you needed to move the Bobcat for any reason.  And,...if they tried to use a socket for quick bolt/nut removal, the tack would keep them from seating the socket.  I doubt any thieves would take the time or risk making the noise to remove the tacks.

Reply:You could always bulid a welding skid that way you have other tools like your O/A cutting rig or a argon bottle and you still have your full size bed. And you want have to worry about leavening it in a parking lot or something like that. But if you decided to bolt it make sure you bolt it to your frame maybe use look tight or weld the nut .  Maybe talk to your insurence company and see if they will cover your welding machine along with your other tools.
