I am almost done, need to mount the engine Honda 200cc, 13.6gpm pump, hydraulic lines, and paint. Attached ImagesLast edited by moose13; 05-11-2011 at 10:33 PM.
Reply:I'm waiting to see a video of this thing working.I once did a challange (30+ years ago) with an older husband/wife I was doing some tree cutting for.  We had large douglas fir rounds, mostly around 2' diameter and 18" long, for fire wood.  They rented a hydraulic spitter, not as big as yours, and I used an eight pound splitting maul.  With the spitter and two againsts one, they still had not hope.  On big straight grain rounds like these, a man with a maul can walk around the circumference, knocking off tangentail slabs, wacking those in 1/2's or 1/3's, and easily be done before the folks could load and handle the wood through the spillter.  I think I could still win this challange with "good wood", but not sure, cause that was 30 years ago.
Reply:I would beef up the welds on the wedge. It takes a beating my first attempt they wernt big enough had to redo the welds. Otherwise looks good.Millermatic 252millermatic 175miller 300 Thunderboltlincoln ranger 250smith torcheslots of bfh'sIf it dont fit get a bigger hammer

Reply:Yeah, kids are great everybody should own a couple.  They make great channel changers like my dad used.  Instaed of a remote, he would say, "boy change the channel" and I would get up change the channel and adjust the rabbit ears so it came in clear.  I gues only having three channel when I was young saved a lot of hassle for me back then.  Hee hee.BobI'm spending my Kids inheritance, I dont like him that much anyway!!!!!!Enuff tools to do the job, enough sense to use em.Anybody got a spare set of kidneys?  Trade?

Reply:I raised 4 kids with 2-3 year increments between them. When the oldest was 12 he was becoming pretty handy and would do whatever I asked. He would work for soda, movies, etc.. but mostly to be with dad and learn something new. He got the nickname "cheap help". His sister (3 years younger) was given the nickname "useless" because if she was ever willing to do anything, it took more time to show her what to do than to just do it yourself. The youngest two boys were too young to do much of anything to help me, so they got the names "worthless" and "more-so".  More-so (the youngest) is now 41 yrs,  6' 6". and 218 lbs.  I don't dare call him that anymore.CharleyMiller MM252Miller Bobcat 225NTMiller DialArc HF / DIY Cooler2 Victor O/A TorchsetsMilwaukee 8" Metal SawMilwaukee Dry Cut "Chop" Saw 5 Ton Wallace Gantry Various Grinders, Benders, etc.
