Reply:It's pretty straight forward using batteries, just building in the correct amount of resistance to get amps right is the hard part. There is a YouTube video of me doing a demo somewhere.Cheers Andrew
Reply:I've welded with a battery... but not on purpose
Reply:I accidently "welded" across 6 12 volt batteries once. (I was wireing 10 batteries in series for an emergency lighting unit that had 120 volts of batts that fed an apartment building). It took an inch off of the end of an adjustable wrench, and I saw nothing but stars for about 1/2 hour. It didn't hurt the batts though because I replaced then all 10 years later (still had marks on them). Funny ever since I made shure I had a wrench that has rubber on the end for that purpose... Oh 1 other lesson to pass on don't EVER swim out to a boat, grab both battery cables at the same time, and put them on their respective terminals... dont think 12 volts dc hurts. f off. It threw me across the boat, took the wind out of me and both arms shakin and tingeling. Hint its the salt water DUH. In my own defence I was only 16 years old. Yes it's funny now but then OMG.
