Trailer lift.

This came about over the winter. The customer had lifted his truck, then wanted (needed) his trailer to match the truck height or else he could no longer pull it.  As it was, he had a friend tow it to the shop. He left, pulling it behind his own truck, happy with the height match.(Consider height restrictions before undertaking anything like this.)City of L.A. Reply:I'm far from an expert, but he'll probably be back for tabs to mount a sway bar and some Rancho's. Reply:Probably a dumb question, but why did the trailer need a lift to match the truck?  That size trailer is not remotely suited to any kind of off-roading, he's sacrificing on the road stability and if it's simply to allow the trailer to sit level while being towed, why not just get a receiver that drops the additional 4 inches?That said, great job.  I'll keep that in mind for future reference (I'm thinking of building a trailer to haul behind my ATV and that might be a way to ensure it matches height for actual off-roading)."These instructions are at our present level ofknowledge. Reply:I don't think there is any room for a 4 inch drop on a fifth wheel.  Easy fix on a tow behind trailer though.Friend of mine had to get his done the same way for his new Ford, and all he had done to the truck was a front level kit plus bigger tires.Last edited by homegrownrmk; 05-26-2011 at 08:00 PM.
