Cast Aluminum Bearing Housing..

Ya got me what this does..Had to have it NOW and I don't need this on a Sunday..But anyway there is a bearing that goes inside it and a seal that is on top of it..The seal area was worn maybe .020 deep and .035 wide along the edge..Machine at 150 max...Argon Helium mix..1/16" 5356 fillerMachined flat after welding with no side effects....Boss took care of that after I said "Taa Taa"Now BACK TO MY BBQ....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:i love weekend call outs I get them all the time.  90% of the time they are from new customers who think they have to have to have something fixed and that I actually want to come fix it for them.  I tell them I no leave house after 5 on saturday for less than $250 and its $150 an hour.      Now if it is one of my regulars and I know they need it.  I will go help them out for standard rate because they are good steady buisness.  But it damn well better be needed for feeding livestock or saving lives cause otherwise you wont convince me to come out again for your "emergency".     Remember -  a lack of planning on the customers part does not make it an emergency on the repair guys part.www.burdettenetworks.com
Reply:Nice smooth clean welds there Zap.   And on cast aluminum even.    Hmmm, you used Ar-He gas instead of the 'usual' plain argon?  Any reason, or was it just what was available/hooked-up on a Sunday afternoon?  And do you think the added helium helped the weld come out so nice and clean even on cast aluminum?  The best laid schemes ...
